Pickleball Club of Winnipeg, Terms and Conditions
Facility Users:
The Pickleball Club of Winnipeg has 3 player categories (Members, Non-members, and Guests). Members are players who have selected a tier and agreed to belong to the club for a pre-selected number of months. Non-members are players who have decided not to become a member and instead book courts a la carte. Guests are players who accompany members (a guest can only be a guest a maximum of 3 times in a 12-month period).
Members/Membership:
Membership includes a prepaid number of hours (credits that function as tokens would to use court time) that are held in a virtual credit bank. They can be used to book courts for either singles, doubles, or for use with the ball machine (+20.00/hr). Additional credits can be purchased once the prepaid credits hours are used up. Membership categories (tiers) vary in the their details including how far in advance bookings can be made, how many hours can be used per week, and the rates at which additional credits can be purchased. The higher tiers include more prepaid hours, greater advanced booking, and lower fees for purchasing more credits.
Family Memberships are possible for anyone who resides within the same address. Tiers 4, 5, 6, & 7 are eligible as family memberships. Household members are added to the family profile and the prepaid hours are available for everyone's use through their own profile.
The number of prepaid hours included with a membership tier must be used during a 7-day period beginning on Sunday and concluding on Saturday. Unused hours do not carry-over to the next 7-day period. At the start of the week the credit bank resets and refills.
Prepaid Credit Hours are used to book court time for either singles, doubles, or with the ball machine. In the future there could be restrictions placed on their use during busier times (ie. singles bookings may be restricted to non-peak times). At present their is no such restriction. When members use up their prepaid hours additional credits can be purchased at the same rate of their membership tier. By comparison, non-members book court time at a rate of $30.00/hour during non-peak times which equates to a rate of $7.50 per person per hour. When a member needs to buy additional credits, their cost will be their hourly rate divided by the number of participants on the court, 4 or 5 for doubles, or 2 for singles. These purchased credits can only be used for doubles play or where there are 4 players to a court.
Court Bookings:
All those who play or use the courts are required to complete an application form to create a profile on our database. The profile allows members and non-members access to our software to book courts. Guests must always accompany a member and therefore are unable to create a booking themselves.
Non-members can access the site and book courts 5 days in advance and pay online. Alternatively, non-members, can (once they have created their profile) call the front desk to make a booking and pay over the phone using a credit card. Non-members must always pay for the court in full at the time of their booking.
Members use their profile to create bookings which are paid for using the credits from their credit bank. When making the booking members must select whether the booking is for Singles or Doubles. The member creating the booking then invites others (from the database, using the drop-down menu) to join. The invited players will receive an email invitation with options to join or decline the invitation. With acceptance their credit bank is deducted the required credits. If there aren't enough credit the members are prompted to pay their rate to join the booking. Non-members are prompted to pay at their rate. A guest can also be added to the booking, and the guest will have to pay the preset guest court fee of $5.00/hr upon arrival to the club.
